Delish! I added some collagen protein, maca root and used monk fruit to sweeten. Topped with fresh raspberries and dark chocolate chips.
This recipe is a keeper for sure!

Hello,
I am happy to hear that you liked it.
The recipe is correct though. We need to yeast to do its job first before we start kneading the dough.
Hope this helps.

Hi Laura,
I think that is a good idea. I would make the whole recipe, bring to room temp, and store it (in the Dutch oven with the lid on) in the fridge. On the day you are planning to serve it, take it out of the fridge a few hours before (to take the chill off) you are planning to warm it up (make sure that the lid is still on during that time). Then, 30-45 minutes before you are planning to serve it, you can gently reheat it on the stove. It is hard to give you an exact time as it really depends on the amount of liquid you have in the pot. I usually end up with a lot so I give myself a good hour to reheat. As it is heating, keep a close eye on it and stir it a few times to make sure it is warming nicely.
Alternatively, you can put the whole thing (without the lid) to a preheated 350 F oven and reheat it gently. Again, depending on the liquid you have in the pot I think it could take somewhere between 25-45 minutes.
I hope this answers your question.

Hi Linda,
I do not think that coconut sugar will work in this chocolate cake recipe as you need the liquid coming from the maple syrup. Without that the liquid coming from eggs only will not be enough. I hope this answers your question.

This was great! Tasted just like the bread I had at kebab restaurants. However, I got confused by the steps. Shouldn’t step 8 be after step 5? Because I almost kneaded the dough twice and every other bread making recipe kneads it once.

Outstanding recipe and SO easy to pull together for a family (or have on hand for snacks!) Another home run for Aysegul!:) Don’t hesitate, try this now!!:)

These are so delicious and so easy to make! I’ve made seed crackers before, but I don’t think they’ve had olive oil or any oil in them. I think that’s what makes these taste so crispy in comparison to others I’ve made in the past. Worth the extra calories! Thank you!

So good! I was looking for an easy to prepare apple, cinnamon & oat bake, minus flour & excessive sweeteners. This fit the bill perfectly!

I halved the recipe but still used 1 medium sized Granny Smith apple with the peel, 1 tsp cinnamon & a small handful of chopped dates. I stirred a tablespoon of almond butter into the batter. I also substituted 10% fat Greek yogurt for the applesauce.

The recipe is a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

I made this as written, for the crock pot. I was surprised that it was fairly thick, just how I like chili. I love mole poblano, so it wasn’t odd to see chocolate in a Mexican recipe. I didn’t have pumpkin seeds but I did have sunflower seeds and they worked. A squeeze of lime was a good choice.

One of the quickest and most flavorful chicken dishes to put together! I didn’t have time to marinate and put it in the oven at 425 convection roast and it came out great! I was a little low on the Harissa so added some cumin, paprika and olive oil. Looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow. Don’t skip a yogurt, lemon, garlic sauce . Really complements it.

The grass feed lamb was quite gamey, but still tasted good. Flavors were subtle and blended well with each other. He will make again!

Hi Greg,

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the sauce.

Regarding the flavor, it’s important to note that this recipe is designed as a weeknight-friendly shortcut, rather than a traditional Turkish Döner. To get that authentic, deep flavor of a traditional Turkish Döner kebab, you typically need hours of marinating with a lot more spices, layered meat on a vertical rotisserie, and a high ratio of rendered animal fat.

Let’s be honest, those elements aren’t always practical for a quick home dinner.

For this version, I stayed true to the viral recipe and intentionally kept the spices more on the conservative end to make it approachable for a wide range of palates.

However, if you’re looking for that ‘restaurant-level’ punch, you can easliy customize it according to your tastebuds. Below is where I would start:

Increasing the spices: Use 1/4 teaspoon more of the cumin, paprika, and one or two more minced fresh garlic. Perhaps, add some ground coriander and Urfa chili in there as well.
Marinating: Letting the meat sit with the spices for several hours (or overnight) to helps flavors to meld.
Add more fat (just like they do in restaurants): Using a higher-fat ground meat (perhaps 80/20 ratio) or adding a bit of oil or butter to mimic the richness of the spit-roast.

I appreciate you giving it a try, and I hope these tweaks help you find that bolder flavor profile you’re looking for!
